God knew in advance about the lives He would touch through the ministry of Roseland Christian School. He knew the exact day it would start and the very hour it would end. God also knew that in celebration of his faithfulness to RCS, we would welcome over 400 friends and alumni to recognize and remember the one-of-a-kind educational community that was Roseland Christian School.
Let me thank you, on behalf of the board and staff, because through your prayers and gifts, God enabled us to settle our outstanding debts, pay our staff salaries and benefits, and sell the old school building. This alone is a tremendous show of God’s faithfulness, and reflects strongly on the legacy of Christian education in Roseland.
Following the closing of RCS, there has been a stirring of people proclaiming that the greater Roseland community still needs a school that represents Jesus Christ and His kingdom. A strategic planning team has therefore been drafting Roseland Christian Academy, a new covenant with the community that is specially designed for the Roseland of today and equipped to continue relevancy for the Roseland of tomorrow. Rather than continuing a traditional approach for pre-K through 8th grade Christian education, the new Academy will more strongly emphasize both the fine arts and the sciences and assert a unique community service aspect – all within the context of proclaiming and teaching the kingdom of God.
We are excited and committed to this vision, and are looking for partners who will pray for, volunteer in and give to this new Christian Academy. We seek to be an abiding presence in the Roseland Community reflecting the legacy of RCS, while implementing an original model that encompasses fresh ideas and timely educational opportunities.
Our immediate goals are: 1) to find a suitable building; 2) to produce a sustainable budget and; 3) create a curriculum that will prepare our students for a life lived for God in excellence.
I hope this strikes a chord in you. If it does, please email me with your contact information and we will keep you informed about the latest developments.
God does indeed know all. It’s a comforting truth that all of history is in the hands of God. If it’s His will, the future will be bright for Christian education in the greater Roseland community.
